garden resort. The Oberoi, Lombok, has an intimate ambience, with
thatched-roof villas and terraced pavilions dotting 24 acres of tropical
gardens. The villas and pavilions have expansive, shaded terraces to
relax in, while you look out at beautiful gardens or beaches. All the
villas and terrace pavilions offer spacious bedrooms and feature local

ACCOMMODATIONS |
|
There
are 50 villas and pavilions at The Oberoi, with spacious bedrooms and
out-of-this-world marble sunken garden baths. All guest accommodation is
in thatch-roofed buildings of local materials, all at ground level and
all air-conditioned. Private garden walls of pink-tinged local limestone
ensure total privacy.
Every villa has a separate bedroom, bathroom, courtyard with rock pond,
raised dining pavilion and terrace with either garden or ocean views.
Many Luxury villas have the privilege of their own private pool. In
addition, the very superior and spacious Royal Ocean View Villa with
Private Pool has a separate sitting room, kitchen and guest shower.
The terrace pavilions all have large bedrooms, glass walled garden
bathrooms and a private shaded terrace with sun loungers and dining
table. Interior decoration throughout is clean-lined and harmonious with
generous use of teak, richly woven carpets and Indonesian artifacts for
character.
All guest villas and pavilions feature the usual 21st century
accoutrements; satellite television, CD player, safe, minibar, direct
dialing and broadband Internet Access.

It
would be hard to find a more stunning outdoor pool than this one.
Fringed with tall curving palms and with views out to sea, The Oberoi
pool is truly beautiful.
If there is any stress left, work it off on the computerized fitness
equipment at the gym, available free of charge to guests. Life Fitness
Exercycle, Rowing Machine, Stepper and Treadmill and a Cybex Multigym
will help keep you trim and toned. Sauna and steam rooms are available
at the Spa.
Beach Club
The Beach Club is open to all guests and can be found at the end of a
picturesque jetty off Medana beach. Here guests will be able to try out
a number of water sports, with expert tuition if required. Snorkelling,
PADI Scuba Diving, Windsurfing and private picnic boat rides are all
available at the Club. A short boat ride away are the fascinating and
beautiful coral gardens of the Gili Islands with a dazzling array of
tropical fish.
Golf
There is a golf course across the bay at Kosaido (10 minutes by car.)

DINING EXPERIENCE |
|
Lumbung Restaurant occupies an open-sided traditionally thatched
pavilion with breathtakingly beautiful views across a reflection pool
fringed with palms to the ocean’s horizon. A variety of Asian and
Continental fine cuisine is offered here. An enchanting choice for a
romantic dinner, though it may be hard to take your eyes off the view.
This shady terrace café overlooks the sea and is perfect for a beachside
breakfast or light a la carte lunch. The café offers a choice of Asian
and Continental dishes with seafood specialties in the evening. From
here you can gaze across the reflection pool to the Gili Islands. There
is a children’s’ menu, but no reduction on set meal rates.
Amphitheatre
On selected evenings, themed Indonesian buffets are accompanied by
traditional ‘Sasak’ dance performances. An evening of culture for those
who cannot bear to leave the resort.
Near the Sunbird Café, Tokek Bar serves up dreamy tropical
cocktails for a mellow evening’s gazing into a perfect sunset. |

The
Oberoi Lombok is an idyllic garden resort on Medana Beach, located on
the island of Lombok (65 km due East of the island of Bali), in Nusa
Tenggara Barat (N.T.B.) an Eastern province of Indonesia. The resort is
28 kilometers (17 miles) from the city center and airport. Set in 24
acres of private grounds, the hotel is a special getaway where you can
indulge in the comfort of luxurious accommodation, with superb cuisine,
and a caring conscientious staff.
By Air
Lombok’s Selaparang (Ampenan-Mataram) airport (AMI) is a 45-minute drive
to or from the resort. Lombok is connected to Bali’s Ngurah Rai airport
(DPS) with daily flights (5 times daily) operated by Merpati Nusantara
Airlines or from Jakarta (connecting in Yogyakarta or Surabaya) with
daily flights offered by Garuda Indonesia. Lombok is also connected from
Singapore with Silk Air, three times weekly on Monday, Thursday, and
Saturday.
Flying time from Bali to Lombok is approximately twenty-five minutes.
Flying time from Jakarta to Lombok is approximately four hours
(including transit time). Flying time from Singapore to Lombok is
approximately two hours and thirty minutes.
Privately Chartered Sea Planes can be organized with The Oberoi, Lombok
to drop our guests at the resorts Beach Club Jetty. Flight time from
Bali to Lombok is approximately 30 minutes. Private Helicopters may also
be chartered in Bali to land at the resort. Flight time from Bali to
Lombok is approximately 30 minutes.
By Road
An automobile may be rented near the airport. The drive from Mataram to
The Oberoi, Lombok takes approximately forty-five minutes.
By Sea
The Oberoi, Lombok is approximately 65 kilometers across the straits of
Lombok from the island of Bali. Private Boats and Yachts may moor
directly in front of the resort at The Oberoi’s “Medana” Bay. Private
Boat Charters can be arranged in Bali. Sailing time is 3-5 hours.
Currently there is no other ferry service between the islands of Bali
and Lombok aside from a freight ferry, which primarily carries trucks
and supplies.
